Toilet Clogs
You likely have a clog in the drain. You can attempt to dislodge the clog using a standard household plunger. If you don’t have a plunger, you can typically purchase one at most hardware or big box retailers.
To unclog the toilet, push firmly on the plunger’s handle to create a seal between the drain and the lip of the plunger. Once in place, you’ll want to move the handle vigorously to attempt to push anything stuck in the system out of the pipe.
Be careful when performing this maneuver and do not flush your toilet until the water drains on its own. If you flush, you may cause the basin to overflow with water.
Shower or Sink Clogs
Most shower or sink clogs are caused by a buildup of debris being flushed down the drain. You can prevent these by installing drain traps on your drains. Please do not use chemicals to attempt to clear the clog, as these could damage your plumbing system.
